Our Honey Supers for 2024 have now been removed from the hives and are now in the process of being extracted and put into jars,
honey will be available soon.
From The Hive
Bees spend all season bringing in the nectar from forage, so the worker bees can covert this into the delicious substance we know as honey.
To The Capping Tray
Frames of capped honey are then placed onto the uncapping tray, where the caps are cut off to reveal the honey, getting it ready for extraction.
To The Jar
Once extracted it is then seived at room temperature to remove small wax particles & bee parts, then it gets jarred up to be enjoyed by YOU.
Locally produced in Bradford from urban forage , then extracted straight from the beehive for you to enjoy.
Raw and unpasteurised from spring and summer nectar flows, where the honey is extracted directly from honeycomb and you'll receive 100% from the comb.
This is TOTALLY natural, non-blended honey and some people call it RAW honey (which is a US term), all we do is extract the honey from the honeycomb frame. Gathered from mixed forage within a 5 mile radius of BD1 & BD2 areas of Bradford, giving that natural urban flavour to our golden honey.
Also please remember that only (RAW) natural honey crystallises over time, more so in cold conditions, this is a perfectly natural process of the sugars coming together to form sugar crystals. If this happens just place the jar in water around 70°C and repeat until clear & golden. Or you may just like set honey, both are lovely on toast providing two different textures.
Supporting your local beekeeper means that all monies from honey sales are put back into supporting & maintaining our bee colonies, which does wonders for our enviroment.
All honey is for collection ONLY.
